Fastening material

Fastening material for P and SP gratings

  • Gratings must be secured against lifting or slipping off the supporting structure. Each grating must be fastened at least at four points, preferably at the corners.
  • Lichtgitter CZ supplies fastening material for all types of gratings and for all commonly supplied and specified types of supporting structure profiles.
  • All fastening elements must be inspected periodically, depending on the conditions of use, and the bolted joints must be retightened if necessary.
  • Unless stated otherwise, all types of fastening elements, including bolts and nuts, are hot-dip galvanized.

B 133T – Standard fastening element

Consists of a robust bottom part, a bolt, a nut and a plate (clip). It is designed so that with a mesh size of 33 x 33 mm it can be installed from above through the grating openings. The standard fastening element is not suitable for environments with vibrations. It is also not suitable for fastening gratings used as stair treads (use is possible if the gratings are secured against shifting).

B 334K – Safety fastening element with locking

This element prevents the grating from sliding off the structure even if the bolted joint is loosened. It is intended for forge-welded gratings with a height of max. 50 mm with the mesh size:

34 x 38 mm – fastening element B 334K
34 x 50 mm – fastening element B 351K
34 x 24 mm – fastening element B 33424K
Installation from above through the grating openings is only possible for mesh 34 x 38 mm and 34 x 50 mm

B433-TM – Shot-fired fastening element

Enables very fast fastening of the grating. It consists of an electro-galvanized or stainless steel shot-fired pin with an M 8 thread and a special plate with an internal thread. It can be used for bearing bar spacing from 25 to 40 mm. Installation is carried out using special tools. The fastening element is suitable for environments with vibrations.

Plate versions:
B433-TM – duplex, suitable for outdoor environments
B433-T – electro-galvanized, for indoor environments
B433-TR – stainless steel version, for aggressive environments

installation instructions

B 533 K – Weld-on fastening element

Consists of a special bolt butt-welded to the supporting structure, a nut and a top clip. This fastening ensures high safety against slipping and the grating falling.

B 633K – Safety fastening element with locking

It is intended for pressed gratings with a mesh size of 33 x 33 mm and a height of max. 50 mm. This element prevents the grating from sliding off the supporting structure even if the bolted joint becomes loose. Installation from above through the grating openings is possible.

installation instructions

B 733T – Hook fastening element

It is intended for fastening the grating to a support profile without a bottom flange. For a complete specification, it is necessary to specify the size and type of the support profile. This element also fixes and locks the position of the grating.

B 833T – Hook fastening element

It is intended for fastening the grating to a support profile with a bottom flange. For a complete specification, it is necessary to specify
the size of the support profile. This element also fixes and locks the position of the grating.

installation instructions

B 933T – Double clip

It enables the connection of two adjacent gratings in places where large deflections occur, thus preventing the formation of the so-called “trench edge”. It is applied mainly in areas where large shaped cut-outs are made in gratings.

installation instructions

B10 – Fastening element for gratings with a 11.11 mm cross bar pitch

Consists of the bottom part of the fastening element, a bolt with a flat round head and a nut. The bolt length is at least the grating height + 40 mm. The fastening element is suitable for mesh 22×11 mm.

B 13311K – Standard fastening element for gratings with a 11.11 mm cross bar pitch

Consists of the bottom part of the fastening element, the top clip,  a countersunk head bolt and a nut. The fastening element is suitable for bearing bar spacing of 33.33 mm and larger.

B 270 – Fastening using an anchor plate

Consists of an anchor plate with a hole welded into the grating. Bolts are not included in the delivery.
Especially suitable for drivable gratings.

Other types of fastening elements are listed in the SP + P handbook, which you can find in the Downloads section.
